To retrieve email securely from a Windows based hosting account you will need to specify our generic hostname so that it tallies with the SSL certificate we use. Please replace your existing IMAP/POP3/SMTP servers hostnames (eg. mail.example.com) for vmail1.mail.hosting-platform.com - this hostname can also be used with a https prefix to access webmail securely too.
Please note that although using SSL/TLS for mail retrieval will protect against interception at this point there is no guarantee that when mail is sent between mail servers that it is sent encrypted as it is an optional part of the internet mail specification.
