INFO: mailFeed integration with Exchange Online (Microsoft 365)

Description

If you deploy mailFeed in front of your Exchange Online (Office 365) environment we recommend that you add the mailFeed IP addresses to the Office 365 IP Allow List to ensure inbound mail is not inadvertently filtered.

The instructions provided are for use with a third party service not provided by Iridis. They were correct at the time of publishing but may change over time, therefore they should be considered indicative of the steps necessary and should therefore be consulted in tandem with latest advice and guidance provided by the third party.

Steps

1. Login to Office 365 and click through Admin > Admin Centers > Exchange.

2. Under Protection, choose Connection Filter.

3. Click the Edit button.

4. Select Connection Filtering the left menu.

5. Click the plus (+) symbol, then add the first IP range from the list below and click OK.

6. Repeat step 5 until all of the following ranges have been added:

  • 193.203.116.0/24
  • 185.54.84.0/24
  • 185.54.85.0/24
  • 178.32.81.96/28
  • 51.75.97.128/26

7. Tick the Enable Safe List option.

8. Finally, click Save.

9. Go to Admin > Mail > Mail Flow.

10.  Click the (+) Create New Rule button beneath Mail Flow > Rules.

11. Give the rule a name, such as Bypass Spam Filtering via mailFeed Service.

12. Click on More options.

13. Add the condition Apply this rule if....

14. Select The sender, then click on More Options and select IP address is in any of these ranges or exactly matches.

15. Specify the sender IP addresses as detailed below, then click OK:

  • 193.203.116.0/24
  • 185.54.84.0/24
  • 185.54.85.0/24
  • 178.32.81.96/28
  • 51.75.97.128/26

16.  Add an action beneath Do the following to Modify the message properties. Next, click  Set the spam confidence level (SCL) to and select Bypass Spam Filtering.

17. Save the rule.
