INFO: Connecting to your domain mailbox using Gmail

• WordPress Hosting
• Mailbox Hosting (not Business Email Hosting)

Description:

Using Gmail to connect to your mailbox is not supported but should work by following the steps below:

1. Login to Gmail
2. Click the grey cog icon (towards top right)
3. Click 'Accounts and Import '
4. Click 'Add an email account ' from 'Check email from other accounts '
5. A popup window opens - enter your email address then click 'Next '
6. Select 'Import emails from my other account (POP3) ' then click 'Next '
7. Complete 'Username ', 'Password ' and 'POP Server ' = vmail.hosting-platform.uk, 'Port ' = 995 fields
8. Tick 'Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail '
9. Click 'Add Account '
10. If you would like to send from the address choose 'Yes, I want to be able to send mail as... '
    10a. Set 'SMTP Server ' to 'vmail.hosting-platform.uk ' and port to '587 '
    10b. Set 'Username ' and 'Password '
    10c. Ensure 'Secured connection using TLS ' is set
    10d. Click 'Add Account '
    10e. Enter the verification cose then 'verify '
