HOWTO: Update or create htaccess files using DirectAdmin

To create or update a .htaccess file using DirectAdmin follow the steps below:

1. Login to DirectAdmin via link provided in your 'New Account' email
2. Click the 'Files' icon from the top menu
3. Click the 'public_html' folder from the directory listing
4. Check for a '.htaccess' file in the listing. If it does not exist scroll to the bottom of the page and in the 'Create New File' box enter '.htaccess' then click 'Create'
5. Scroll to the '.htaccess' file then click 'Edit'
6. Make the required modification, noting mistakes may prevent your website from working. 
7. Click the 'Save As' button
