FAQ: How do I renew my domain?

Domain names are registered for a fixed period of time, normally between 1 and 10 years. It is therefore important that you ensure your domain registration is maintained as otherwise you risk losing your domain.

As a courtesy we will automatically generate a domain renewal invoice 30 days before the domain is due to expire, at this point you can advise us you no longer require the domain, settle the invoice or wait for us to request payment of the the invoice which is usally between 2am and 4am on the day before expiry. We recommend that you renew your domain as soon as we generate the invoice as should we encounter any problems with your payment method it gives us sufficient time to resolve them with you or select an alternative method. If you have placed a Credit/Debit card on file or setup a Direct Debit mandate please ensure that sufficient funds are available to process your renewal invoice.

In addition to the automatic renewal method it is also possible to logon to the client portal and manually renew by completing the following steps:

  1. Select 'Domains'
  2. Click 'My Domains'
  3. Choose the required domain and select the 'Manage Domain' option.
  4. To initiate the renewal process click on the 'Renew Now' button
  5. Complete the renewal process by settling the newly generated invoice.
Although we will send a renewal invoice as a courtesy we always recommend that you make a note of your domain renewal dates to ensure that you can be proactive in the domain renewal process.
