Applies To:

Essential Email users:
- Load Outlook
- Click File located at the top left
- Click Account Settings then Account Settings
- Select your new mailbox from the list of accounts then click Change
- On the account settings page ensure:
5a. incoming server = mail.hostedemail.com
5b. outgoing server = mail.hostedemail.com
5c. Ensure 'secure password authentication' is not ticked - Click More Settings
- Click the Outgoing Server tab
7a. Ensure 'my outgoing server requires authentication' is ticked
7b. Ensure 'use same settings as incoming server' is selected - Click Advanced
8a. Ensure the Incoming Server port is 993
8b. Ensure the Incoming Server encryption is set to SSL/TLS
8c. Ensure the Outgoing server port is 587
8d. Ensure the Outgoing Server encryption is STARTTLS - Click OK then Next , a test will run
- Click Close then Finish
